Belouis Some (real name Neville Keighley) singer songwriter from London released his rst album Some People in 1985 on Capitol EMI Records. The album contained the worldwide hit singles Imagination and Some People with the video for Imagination, directed by Storm Thorgerson, causing controversy as it contained full nudity.
In 1986 Belouis Some supported Queen on their “Magic” stadium tour including opening the famous Knebworth concert, one of the largest concerts ever held in the UK and Freddie Mercury’s last ever live performance with Queen. The Belouis Some song Round Round, produced by Bernard Edwards, was included in the 1986 John Hughes movie Pretty In Pink, the platinum selling soundtrack album is on Rolling Stone magazine’s “25 Greatest Soundtracks of All Time”.
Belouis Some headlined his own tour of the USA and Europe in 1988. In 1989 Belouis Some put together The Big Broadcast and toured the UK.
In November 2024, Belouis Some performed his rst full show in 30 years headlining at the O2 Academy Islington, London. This summer 2025 he will be touring across the USA with ‘Lost 80s Live’.

Coalescing in the early 80s and fronted by twin brothers Jay and Michael Aston the band quickly became popular on the indie scene, and by 1985 had established a settled line-up with the additions of Pete Rizzo on bass, Chris Bell on drums and James Stevenson on guitar. Consequently signing to Beggars Banquet they gained a following throughout Europe and the USA. Following the departure of Michael in 1988 and the imploding of their record label, Savage Records in 1993, the band pursued various projects until the 1999 release of a new batch of tracks, in VII. Further touring followed and in 2017 Dance Underwater was released. Produced by Peter Walsh, it featured a string arrangement by Tony Visconti. The band have just released their tenth studio album, X – Love Death Sorrow, to very positive reviews.

British electronic band Blancmange first formed in 1979 but they’re still willing to change and adapt new styles within their electronic framework, which was evident with 2022’s critically acclaimed album Private View. 

Blancmange fuse together an inspiring mix of synthesisers and surrealism, which over the years has created groundbreaking singles such as Feel Me, Living on the Ceiling, Blind Vision and Don’t Tell Me. 

In their post-punk early days, Blancmange made tape loops and experimental sounds with kitchen utensils, before developing into one of the definitive chart-topping British electronic pop acts. Since reforming in 2011, Neil Arthur has harnessed a duality of experimentation and seamless pop melodies to release a staggering 11 albums in the last decade. 

Frankie Avalon started appearing in films in the 1960s; he is well-known for having appeared in the Beach party films of this decade and for a supporting role in the 1978 musical film Grease, in which he sings the song “BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT”.

The Gap Band was founded by Ronnie Wilson in 1967 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and comprised of multi-instrumentalist brothers Ronnie Wilson & his Brothers, The Gap Band surfaced as one of the most popular funk/rhythm-and-blues (R&B) groups of the 1980s. The brothers grew up performing in their father’s Pentecostal church in Tulsa. There, their mother was the church’s pianist, and the boys sang every Sunday before their father’s sermon. Ronnie, the oldest, started the group when he was fourteen and eventually recruited his younger brothers to play in the band, which they named after streets in the heart of Tulsa’s historic African American business district, Greenwood, Archer, and Pine coming up with the acronym “GAP” The Gap Band recorded their first album, Magician’s Holiday (1974), for Shelter Records, owned by fellow Tulsan Leon Russell. Their success really took flight in 1979 after they moved to Los Angeles. The group scored a Top Five R&B hit with “Shake” (1979), followed by other 1980’s R&B Top Ten hits “Steppin’ Out” and “I Don’t Believe You Want to Get Up and Dance (Oops, Up Side Your Head).” The 1982 pop hit “You Dropped a Bomb On Me” exhibits their trademark, bass-heavy style and the silky, smooth vocals. The band continued recording into the twenty first century.

The band was originally formed in 1981 by lead singer and guitarist Johnnie Dee. Following the departure of his original lead guitarist, Johnnie met Derry Grehan, and he ended up joining the band. Johnnie and Derry immediately recruited Dave Betts on drums, Ray Coburn on keyboards, and Gary Lalonde on bass. In 1983, the band entered a demo of “New Girl Now” to a Homegrown Contest put on by Toronto rock station Q107. They won that year and this led to a multi album, world wide deal with WEA Canada after being signed by A&R president Bob Roper.

The band recorded their debut self-titled album which was released in July, 1984. The album was an instant success, and with the help of massive airplay, several video’s on MTV and MuchMusic, it went on to sell over 300,000 copies in Canada alone.

Since their debut album, Honeymoon Suite has released a total of 9 studio albums to date, with well over 1 million units sold worldwide. They’ve enjoyed an incredible run of success driven by a string of hit singes such as “New Girl Now”, “Burning In Love”, “Stay In the Light”, “Wave Babies”, “Feel It Again” and “What Does It Take”, to name a few.

They have toured extensively in the US, Canada and Europe with acts such as Heart, ZZ Top, Journey, Billy Idol, Loverboy, Bryan Adams, 38 Special, Jethro Tull and Saga, to name a few. Described by U2‟s Bono as “The second greatest rock and roll band in the world”, The Alarm was formed in Wales and with the release of 1981’s debut single ‘Unsafe Building’, featured a daring mix of amped-up acoustic guitars, harmonica and passionate Mike Peters‟ vocals likened by early reviewers as “Bob Dylan meets The Clash”. This is the sound of The Alarm that has been heard around the world ever since, with 17 Top 50 UK singles, a host of successful albums and over 6 million album sales worldwide.

Following an initial breakthrough in the USA with 1983’s ‘The Stand‟ (that recently triggered over 3 million Spotify hits after featuring in the Netflix‟ TV series „13 Reasons Why‟), alongside the evergreen ‘Sixty Eight Guns’ that entered into the UK chart soon after, The Alarm headlined their own ‘Spirit of ’86 Concert’ before 26,000 fans in Los Angeles, that was beamed around the world via MTV’s first ever live global satellite broadcast.

In the summer of 1991, the demands of the road were at the heart of a very public swan song for the original members at London’s Brixton Academy, before the current line up re-emerged causing worldwide controversy in 2004 through The Poppy Fields ‘fake band’ subterfuge.  

Released to conceal their true identity, the Alarm’s first single of the millennium – ’45 RPM’ would ultimately take their signature electro-acoustic rock sound back into the UK top 40 and even further into the mainstream rock culture of North America via a Headline News TV appearance with CBS‟ Dan Rather.

The Alarm’s return was halted almost immediately when, in late 2005, Mike Peters was diagnosed with an incurable cancer (A rare B-cell form of Leukemia), forcing the band into playing select shows, dictated by the chemotherapy / treatment regime that has kept Mike Peters alive ever since.

In January 2006, Mike Peters was given the go ahead to resume normal duties and the group continued with the release of ‘Under Attack’ and another Top 30 single – ‘Superchannel’. A year later, Mike Peters founded the Love Hope Strength charity – which is dedicated to ‘Saving Lives One Concert At A Time‟ and can lay claim to registering over 250,000 individuals to the International Bone Marrow Donor Registry in the UK / USA.

Despite travelling from relapse to remission and back (as documented by 2017‟s award winning US Movie – „Man in the

Camo Jacket‟), The Alarm family suffered another cruel blow, when Jules Peters (Keyboards), was diagnosed with Breast Cancer during filming of a BBC Documentary about the band. Broadcast nationally, the raw footage touched many people‟s lives and featured a moving tribute from the aforementioned Bono of U2.

Undeterred, The Alarm continued with the release of Equals (2018) and Sigma (2019), entering the UK Rock charts at

Number One. Their 1987 hit song „Rain In the Summertime‟ was covered by The Killers and Smashing Pumpkins‟ Billy Corgan with Mike Peters awarded an MBE by the future King Charles for services to cancer.

During lockdown in 2020, The Alarm broadcast their own weekly music and chat show „The Big Night In‟, attracting over 500,000 viewers across the internet. In 2021, the band wrote, recorded and released „OMEGA‟, their most critically acclaimed album to date. which was conceived in just 50 lockdown days, capturing the attention of global news broadcaster CNN and debuting in the Top 10 of the UK Rock Music chart,

In 2022, The Alarm celebrated their 40th Anniversary with the release of the History Repeating Anthology and World

Tour which was cut short when Mike Peters was stricken by Pneumonia and a life threatening Leukemia relapse. Mike Peters continued to write new music throughout and once strong enough, lead The Alarm back into the studio to record a brand new album entitled Forwards which upon release, entered the UK Album Rock Chart at #4 and the Billboard Independent Album Chart at #21.

The Blow Monkeys are unique with a career spanning over 40 years. Always making new music, always stretching their own musical boundaries. With worldwide hits such as the classics “Digging Your Scene” and “It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way”, they became household names but there was always so much more going on with these simian soulsters.

Their relentless desire to move forward, to collaborate, to be socially engaged and to have something to contribute. Back in the 80’s they worked with people as varied as Curtis Mayfield, Paul Weller, Cheb Khaled and even Jamaican Toaster EEK-a-Mouse!. “No band since The Clash in their early 80’s heyday had attempted to act as a sounding board for such politically engaged, eclectic music”.

Dr Robert even took time out to release one of the UK’s first homegrown ‘house’ records “Wait”, his top 5 duet with Chicago soul diva Kym Maselle.

And so the journey continues. Reformed in 2008 The Blow Monkeys have been incredibly productive releasing six new albums and playing hundreds of concerts. Their latest album “Journey To You” ( 2021) was recorded during ‘lockdown’ and features the extraordinary single “Time Storm” . BMG have also re-released their classic album from 1986 ‘Animal Magic’ as part of their “Iconic” series. It comes as a 4 CD boxset and tasty white vinyl limited edition with extra tracks and rarities galore.

These Monkeys continue to evolve. From their beginnings on the underground club scene right through to their appearance on the biggest selling soundtrack of all time “Dirty Dancing” (You Don’t Own Me) and beyond. Long may they swing.

2025 represents over 60 YEARS of original ska with The Skatalites!! The original members played on hundreds of recording sessions before forming the band in 1964.  Backing most of the vocalists in Jamaica at that time, including Bob Marley, Toots and The Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe and many more The Skatalites secured their place in musical history early on. After disbanding in 1965 the individual members continued playing in various groups as the music evolved from ska to rocksteady to reggae.

In 1983 The Skatalites reunited to play Reggae Sunsplash in Montego Bay and subsequently in London at The Crystal Palace for the U.K version of The Sunsplash event. A few years later they began emigrating to the U.S.A and in 1986 the first US shows began at The Village Gate in NYC. The band supported Bunny Wailer on The Liberation Tour in 1989 and followed it up in 1990 embarking on their first-ever headline tour of The U.S.A.  The Skatalites have not stopped touring the world ever since and continue to be available for festivals, casinos, and intimate venue settings. Their unique infectious brand of authentic Jamaican ska excites audiences of all ages across the globe year after year.

In February, 1977, Julian Junior Marvin was invited to join Bob Marley & The Wailers. The rest is history. The acclaimed Exodus LP became Julian Junior’s debut with Bob Marley & The Wailers. In 1999, Time Magazine declared Exodus Album Of The Century, while “One Love” was named Song of the Millennium in 2000. Julian Junior Marvin was lead guitarist and musical contributor on all subsequent Bob Marley & the Wailers albums, and toured worldwide with the Wailers until Bob’s passing in 1981.

Since then, Julian Junior has released four CDs with The Wailers Band: ID, Majestic Warriors, Jah Message and My Friends (Live),as well as numerous solo projects. China Crisis is an English pop/rock band. They were formed in 1979 in Kirkby, near Liverpool, Merseyside with a core of vocalist/keyboardist Gary Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon. China Crisis were originally assimilated in the batch of new wave Liverpool acts of the early 1980s, led by OMD and also including The Teardrop Explodes, A Flock of Seagulls and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
